About Orlando Health
Orlando Health is a private, not-for-profit health system operating ten hospitals and dozens
of specialty care centers across Central Florida. Major facilities include Orlando Health
Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) — the region’s only Level I trauma center —
Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, Orlando Health
Horizon West Hospital, and the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital
for Women & Babies, two nationally recognized specialty hospitals within the system.
Orlando Health vs. AdventHealth: The Two-System Market
Central Florida’s hospital market is dominated by two large systems: Orlando Health
and AdventHealth. Most broad PPO plans in the Greater Orlando market include both. However,
narrow-network HMO and EPO plans — including some marketplace products — may be built around
one system or the other.
If you have ongoing care relationships at facilities in both systems, or want access to
Orlando Health’s trauma and specialty services (Arnold Palmer, Winnie Palmer) as
well as AdventHealth’s network, a PPO plan is the most reliable way to keep that
flexibility.
Which Carriers Include Orlando Health?
Orlando Health participates in networks for Florida Blue, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare,
and Humana in the Central Florida market. Coverage is plan-specific — a carrier’s
PPO product may include Orlando Health while its HMO product does not. Always check the
specific plan product, not just the carrier name.
Arnold Palmer Hospital and Winnie Palmer: Insurance Considerations
Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies are
both part of the Orlando Health system and share the same network status. If you are
pregnant or have children who may need specialty pediatric care, confirm your plan
explicitly includes these facilities in addition to the general Orlando Health system.
How to Verify Orlando Health Network Status
- Call Orlando Health Guest Services at (321) 841-5111 with your insurance information.
- Use your insurer’s online provider directory and search the specific facility name
filtered to your plan product.
- Call member services on your insurance card to confirm both the facility and your
specific physicians are in-network before scheduling care.
